Visually with this video something that we think would work well is shots in and around trains, these stand out to us after watching videos like Dr Dogg - The Truth which contains high numbers of shots of trains. Also in this video we have taken inspiration from the editing style, it uses a retro colour grade which we are planning to experiment with in our preliminary task.
One of the lines of action that we are going to take on is footage of a father and son, this will either be found footage, or filmed to make it look old. This narrative is important as lyrics in this song like "but I still see my papa on the shelf" describe the death of his father, we believe adding this sort of footage will really add to the emotion of the video, and create a strong connection between the visuals and the audio through the method of amplification.
We have also decided that for our video we are going to steer clear of normal Hip Hop conventions mostly as we believe that Loyle Carner as an artist stays away from them himself making it only right for us to follow in his footsteps.
